We are a non-profit Lion Dance and KungFu Team located in Connecticut. Vo Dang Ly Gia Quyen is a Kung Fu style originally from China. Discover by the Ly family hundreds of years ago. It move to Vietnam and the pratice was perform there. In Vietnam the school are very hardcore. Students would hit if the moves were not perform properly or students are fooling around. My father became a white Belt (the Highness Belt of KungFu) when my brother was a few months old. We came to Ameircan when my brother was one years old. They started the school in my house. The "school" is in my basement, driveway, and garage. He did not want to start a real school becuase he did not like the way American teach other material arts. He only teach a small number of students that is willing to learn. While praticing a student can get hurt. When my brother was 8 year old my father started teaching younger kids. We went on parade performing Kung Fu. We stop 2 years after. In 2004 my dad open the pratice again. Now more students that are willing to learn has join. During class we pratice without shoe in the cold in the drive way, also in the summer. We are like one family. We have fun, but also learn about Kung Fu. Our Lion Dance and Kungfu team name is "VO DANG LY GIA QUYEN". We been doing Lion Dance since 2004. We all are Vietnamese.
